1. What is the difference between the Single Channel Motherload and the Dual Channel Motherload?

The single and dual channel models are identical in sound as they use the same parts, construction, circuit boards, components, load, filters, EQ etc. The dual channel model simply adds a second channel of EQ, filters, resonance controls and I/O. It also has an added headphone output with independent control over the headphone volume for each channel. It still has only one load.

2. Will the Motherload allow me to play and record my amp(s) turned up very loud without the use of a speaker cabinet or at very low volumes?

Yes, both. This is one of the most common uses for the Motherload. It will allow you to play and record your amp(s) turned up all the way WITH or WITHOUT the use of a speaker cabinet. Using the Motherload to record guitar gives you the options of using a speaker cabinet or not, for either silent recording of your amps, recording the speaker cabinet WHILE recording the direct signal, or recording the direct signal while monitoring through the speaker cabinet.
With the Motherload, it is all about TONE, OPTIONS and VERSATILITY. For those who do not need a solution for recording their amps and simply want control over the volume of their amps without sacrificing tone, then we suggest using the less costly Richter Control.

3. Can the Motherload drive my amp(s) hard without the loud volume of my speaker cabinet, or do I need the Richter Control.

Yes the Motherload can do this without the Richter Control. You DO NOT need BOTH the Richter Control AND the Motherload. The Motherload AND the Richter Control can independently attenuate (control) the power (volume) of your amps. Both the Motherload and the Richter Control can drive your amps turned up FULLY while driving your speaker cabinet at a volume that your family and neighbors will LOVE you for…once again, you do not need both…BTW, you don't need both :+).

4. I've been in the market for something like a hotplate so I can drive my amp full out without the whole apartment complex complaining about my speaker volume. Can the Motherload do that? If so, is there any real benefit to owning both the THD Hotplate and the Motherload in my situation?

The Motherload is THE BEST sounding and most versatile speaker simulator you will find and would be the first choice for applications involving recording guitars at midnight. If you just need to quite things down without a direct recording output then our Richter Control attenuator will do the job. It is THE BEST attenuator for low volume sound quality. The Motherload and the Richter Control will solve your problem, provided your amp has an 8ohm output, there is no point in using a hotplate as well.

5. Is there any real benefit to owning both the Motherload and the Richter Control?

The Motherload is a dummy load combined with a speaker tone DI. It does live and recording equally well. It also has a variable speaker output suitable for room volume. The Richter Control is a dummy load with a variable speaker output. It is intended for those amps that are simply too loud to crank up. The output range is loud enough for stage and low enough for small studio. So the Motherload is really a connection into the sound system of auditorium or studio, the Richter is a backline control. If you want to achieve both then it is an advantage to have both units. They connect together to form a combined backline and FOH system and can be situated at either location, joined through a cable snake.

Initially we chose to sell the Sequis line of products direct in order to keep pricing as low as possible and to allow us some time to establish a consistent supply and create a strong demand for our product line. When we achieve this, we will seek out a strong but VERY limited dealer network in North America. 2-4 key dealers in the U.S.A., 1-2 key dealers in Canada and 1 in Mexico.

15. If I am not satisfied with my purchase, can I return it? Do you have a trial period or satisfaction guarantee?

Yes we do offer a satisfaction guarantee and a trial period. We understand that some people want the security of knowing that a product will work for them before they commit to a purchase. We are very confident in the Sequis product line, and this is why we stand behind it 100%. We think our products are great, but they may not be for everyone. If you are not satisfied with your purchase you can return it. Once you receive the Motherload and/or the Richter Control, you have a two day trial period. If you are not satisfied with your purchase within the two day trial period you can contact us and arrange for a refund (minus shipping charges and any applicable Paypal fees). Unlike our competitor's we DO NOT charge a restocking fee. However, certain reasonable conditions do apply. Your purchase must be returned to us at your expense in the same condition as it was when you received it, without any cosmetic damage, scratches or flaws and fully functioning. We strongly suggest that you DO NOT screw the Motherload into a rack until you are certain that you wish to keep it. During the trial period we suggest that you place your purchase in a safe location, away from potential damage where it is unlikely to be scratched, dropped or damaged. Please read the manual for simple operating and connection instructions for the Motherload and the Richter Control PRIOR to connecting your amp(s).
